Angoon Trading is the general store and we sell grocery, lumber, hardware, appliances, plumbing and heating supplies, as well as ship freight. Angoon Trading Co. has served the needs of the community for more than 50 years.

For the first time we are now offering our products online. We want to make you a growing part of our community.

We are excited about our efforts to lessen our carbon footprint by practicing more energy efficient methods. We are also researching alternative energy solutions to reduce our dependence on diesel energy.

Admiralty Island, also referred to as "Fortress of the Bears", is nestled between Juneau and Sitka in the Alexander Archipelago in Southeast Alaska. It is 90 miles long and 35 miles wide at the widest. Admiralty Island is designated as Kootnoowoo Wilderness, Admiralty Island National Monument and part of the Tongass National Forest. Admiralty Island is only accessible by boat, plane or the ferry on the Alaska Marine Highway. With fewer than 10 miles of road, Angoon is situated in the heart of a pristine wilderness.

The Tlingit community of Angoon is home to more than 450 people year round, although more call it home at least seasonally. The Tlingit culture is being revitalized in this small community. Culture and dancing classes are held for adults as well as children throughout various times of the year. Enmeshed with talented beaders, painters and carvers, Angoon is a treasure off the beaten trail.
